🌌Astral Council

Direction and Vision

The Syndicate Governance with DAOs and Sub-DAOs is a structure that empowers the community to participate in the governance of a protocol. One example of this structure is the Astral Council, a governing DAO that oversees the Syndicate protocol. The Astral Council comprises 5 members who are elected by the community for a fixed term (6 months).

The responsibilities are as followed:

  1. Coordinating and governing the Sub-DAOs: The Astral Council is tasked with the overall coordination and governance of the Sub-DAOs within the Syndicate Governance structure. This includes onboarding and offboarding members, deciding on appropriate resource allocation, structuring and prioritizing work, establishing stipends and other compensations, and negotiating with the Treasury Council and outside partners.

  2. Hosting community governance meetings: The Astral Council is responsible for hosting periodic community governance meetings to discuss the governance of the protocol, provide updates on development progress, and gather feedback from the community. These meetings are an important way for the community to participate in the governance of the protocol and to have their voices heard.

Overall, the Astral Council plays a critical role in the governance of the Syndicate protocol. Its functions are designed to ensure that the community has a voice in the governance of the protocol and that the development of the protocol is sustainable and aligned with the vision and goals of the IBC ecosystem.
